Features

The Mutant Hot Glue is a versatile bus mixer for analog effects chain design. The included analog compressor offers series or parallel compression and a sidechain input, making it particularly well suited to drum processing. The voltage controlled distortion is based on ideas borrowed from the guitar pedals responsible for a lot of yesterday’s acid style techno sounds, but improved over the guitar equivalents, and made specifically for synthesizer and drum processing. The distortion can be used in its default position, normalized to the effects send, or like every other part of the module, broken out and used elsewhere in your modular system.

The Erica Synths Bass Drum is developed in collaboration with French company e-licktronic and it’s our take on analogue bass drum circuits adapted for modular systems. Massive, punchy sound, Accent, and CV control over key parameters of the module make it distinctively expressive in live performances. The Bass Drum2 has a unique take on the same concept - 909 based like previously, but with a Trigger/Gate mode. When in Gate Mode - Bass Drum2 reacts to gated signals making it possible to create sustained drum sounds. By modulating the gate length (patch the Gate output of the preferred sequencer into Trigger input and set various gate lengths), you can design unconventional Bass Drum patterns.

The Mutant Machine began as a quest to create a rich-sounding eurorack snare drum synthesis module to complement the existing Mutant Drums. The project quickly became too large and costly to justify the module being capable only of snare drum sounds. So, the decision was made to learn from the architecture of the TR-909’s snare and kick circuits, to develop a module capable of generating multiple forms of analog percussion, and various other effects. Like the other Mutant Drums, the Machine has its roots in classic analog percussion synthesis. Even though it can create alien sounds, it still can deliver those classic 909 house snares and kicks if you want them. There are no microcontrollers in the Machine. The signals and waveforms are all generated by discrete components and ICs, for a distinctly analog sound, and user experience. Now redesigned by Erica Synths in collaboration with Hexinverter Electronique the module features a manual trigger button.

The Sample Drum is 14HP eurorack sample player module with straight-forward, intuitive interface, functionality and great sound quality, designed with live performance use in mind. The Sample Drum is composed of two identical parts and allows you to play back, record and slice up samples or loops directly in your modular system. For processing there are different play modes, tuning functions (including 1 V/Oct pitch tracking), virtual VCAs plus AD envelopes and realtime effects. Three freely assignable CV inputs per channel guarantee a lot of expression during performance. 16bit mono wav samples are loaded into RAM (32MB / ~ 5 minutes of sampling time) from SD card (16 GB SD card with factory preset samples comes with the module) for instantaneous playback response. All settings can be saved and recalled during live performance.
