Eurorack MIDI-related issues

Some modules have a minijack MIDI input/output which appears to not work correctly

Any module that has a minijack MIDI input/output works via TRS MIDI. If no MIDI data appears to be sent or received, it is important to check the adapter.

TRS MIDI has two standards - type A and type B. This refers to the internal tip/ring/sleeve configuration when converted to a standard DIN-5 MIDI cable and they are otherwise visually indistinguishable. Erica Synths modules use type-B TRS MIDI, so in case of any issues, the first thing to check is whether you are using the correct adapter. You can find one in our web shop, here.

It is also important to check your DIN-5 cable. There could be issues with MIDi signals if you are using USB-DIN solutions. The problem could be either with the USB-DIN adapter cable itself or with your USB port/hub - for this reason, we always recommend using audio interfaces with a dedicated DIN-5 input and output.
