How do I know if my Zen delay has the latest firmware?
All newer Zen Delay units will have the newest firmware installed in the factory. If your Zen is from 2021 or later then it has the latest update. If the MIDI sync appears to be inconsistent, then the firmware isn't updated.
The three improvements made in the new firmware are as follows: - Improved digital delay algorithm - Improved MIDI Sync - Fixed scale for the TIME pot when in sync mode

If you experience any issues with the update process - try it again playing back the audio file from VLC media player - I find that this usually works best. While the input level should theoretically be at 12, you can try other levels - one user found, that turning the input level down to just under 9 and instead of maxing out the computer's volume level, turning it down to about 75% did the trick. Another thing is to make sure your computer/phone used for the update isn't outputting any other sounds (notification sounds, etc.) while updating - these will immediately fail the update process.
